How It All Started
Founder Larry E. Robert's passion for helping local businesses succeed was the driving force behind the establishment of Payroll Pros in October of 2006. His vision was simple – to be the area’s leading payroll service provider. With a profound understanding of the financial intricacies businesses face, Larry aimed to provide a payroll solution tailored to the unique needs of small to medium-sized companies.
Larry E. Roberts, CPA, CFE
Larry started his career in Tax and Accounting more than 25 years ago after graduating from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in accounting. In 2002, Larry started his own Accounting and Tax practice. Sensing the need for a local payroll provider, he started Payroll Pros in 2006. Besides Payroll Pros, Larry is a practicing CPA and part of the team at Fluent & Ricciardi CPA’s. In his free time, Larry enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and spending time with his wife of nearly 40 years and his daughters. The greatest joys however are his two grandsons.
Karen Robinson
Karen has been with Payroll Pros since day one. She oversees the daily operations of the business, focusing on the implementation of new clients, customer service, and troubleshooting. She is an alumnus of Youngstown State University where she earned her BSBA in Management. She is a proud military mom to her twin son and daughter who are serving in the United States Air Force and Army. When she’s not working, she is spending time with her husband of 25 years playing bocce for the Payroll Pros team at the MVR, traveling, and going on adventures together.
Dan Schneider, CPP
Daniel came to Payroll Pros in 2006 with experience from a national company where he was responsible for tax filings in more than 40 states. He currently oversees the Payroll Pros tax department and is responsible for all tax payments and filings. He is a former YSU Penguin receiving his BSBA in accounting. He also holds the CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation. When he is not filing payroll returns, he is looking at the planets and stars in his telescope, riding his motorcycle through the countryside and keeping up with his black belt in Taekwondo.
Amanda Garstka
Amanda is passionate about organization and has provided excellent customer support to her clients for nearly 10 years. During her time with Payroll Pros, Amanda also earned her Bachelor of Science in business administration from Youngstown State University majoring in accounting. Besides work, Amanda enjoys DIY and crafting, beach vacations in Florida and rooting for her favorite sports team The Ohio State Buckeyes. Most importantly, Amanda loves being outnumbered by her husband, son, and dog Baron.
Todd Francis
Todd started with Payroll Pros in 2016. Todd fine-tuned his customer service and management skills in the fast-food industry where he was employed for 22 years before coming to Payroll Pros. Todd holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a double major in accounting and finance from Youngtown State University. Todd processes payrolls, assists with tax payments, and helps to implement new products and services. In his free time, Todd enjoys golfing, riding bikes, and watching football. But his greatest pleasure in life is spending time with his wife, daughter, and identical twin boys. Yes, the twin boys are “double trouble”.
Cheri Michael
Cheri joined the Payroll Pros team in 2020 as a Payroll Consultant. Cheri graduated from The Bradford School of Business and earned an associate degree and came with 20 plus years of customer relation experience from her previous employment. Away from work, she is enjoying her passion for photography, taking photos of her many international travel adventures with her husband, burying her feet in the hot sand, listening to old records and rocking it out at rock concerts.
